A cat dies and goes to heaven.
God is there to meet her at the Pearly Gates.
God says, "You
lived a good life. What can I do to make your stay here more comfortable?"
"Well," the good cat replied, "as you know,
I lived with a very poor family and I had to sleep on very hard, cold floors. I would like a comfortable place to sleep."
God said, "It is done." And suddenly there appeared a cloud of pillows for the cat to sleep on. The good cat was very
pleased and immediately began to snooze.
A few days later, five mice appeared at the Pearly Gates, and again God was there to meet them.
God
said, "You all lived good lives. What can I do to make your stay here more comfortable?"
"Well," the good mice replied,
"all of our lives we ran from cats, dogs, and even from women with brooms."
God said, "You needn't fear any longer." And
suddenly five tiny quads of skates appeared on the feet of the good mice and they went skating off into glory.
A few days later, God saw the good cat lying on her cloud of pillows and asked her how things were
going.
The good cat replied, "Better that I ever imagined! My bed is so comfortable I feel as though I am floating on
air!"
God said, "That is good."
The good cat said, "And by the way, I really appreciate the meals on wheels.
