I am a blunt girl. I'm a bitch, I'm rude, I'm mean, etc etc etc - or so I'm told, but I am honest. Let's break that statement down so that you are not misled. Have I lied? Yes. Have I told more than little white lies? Yes. I am not proud of the lies I have told, be they little and white or dark and moldy. I don't ask anyone to understand why I lied, nor do I ask for sympathy or empathy on being caught in a lie. So, my wrongdoings broached I ask just this:

Can You Deal With An Honest Person?

To paraphrase and overquoted line from a good movie, most people can't handle the truth. Furthermore, not only can they not handle it, they simply do not want to hear it. As a society we have become so accustomed to others opinions being tailored for our ears that even the most obvious, factual, truthful sayings shock them. My favorite example uses the obese portion of our society - who seem to be growing exponentially. Like the women who weigh 350 lbs. yet they are offended and cry when told that they are fat and must have not one, but two plane tickets because their asses take up two seats. I can't imagine why they do this. Are they ashamed that they are fat or ashamed that someone noticed? Whatever the reason, get off your ass, exercise and learn to eat right or start growing your own Ephedra-replacement drugs. You don't need Richard Simmons, my dears, you need discipline and willpower. And what do you do when you feel that you need motivation? Fly Southwest Airlines.

I contribute these oversensitive reactions to obvious weight problems to the whiny, aging, baby-boomer population who were never told anything was wrong with them, never told that when the Dunkin Donuts employees cower in fear at their approach they may want to consider only eating a dozen pastries a day. No one's perfect. In any large group of people you're going to have a very few winners and whole bunch of losers.

Breathe in, breathe out, move on.
