So let's talk about homosexuality. Yep, gay people. Those wonderfully stereotyped men and women who love others of their same sex. (For those of us who were on acid during English, "homo" is Latin for "same". Yes. Wow. Isn't that neat. Education for everyone.) Gay people! Men who have style and taste and culture! Women who are forthright, assertive, and a little overpowering! Imagine our society creating stereotypes and generalities like these!

Okay, so now that we've established that, let's move on to these insatiable homophobes - otherwise knows as Americans. American men, to be more specific. I often wonder why men have such a fear of homosexuals. A favorite hobby of mine is to gather a groupd of my guy friends together - say, at lunch - and then randomly mention homosexuality. Out of the 4 I'm using as an example today, all of them had some little comment either exempting themselves from inclusion or berating gay men. Yet, after a few minutes they will admit - Ryan was the first of the 4 - that their only problem with homosexual men is that gay men may force themselves on him. Honestly, my guy friends are afraid that a gay man is going to come up to them, rip down the pants (underwear is optional among my friends) and rape them. Now, is it just me, or just common sense that realizes that gay men are better-looking than most straight guys, even is we count hygiene alone. So, with that in mind, let's consider this - would a gay man want to put all that effort into raping a straight guy or just find a lover who would be more than willing and possibly even emotionally attached in a meaningful relationship? The answer? I'm not sure, but I have yet to hear of a gay man raping a straight guy, although we have all heard of straight men beating up and killing gay men for being their private, individual, peace-keeping selves.

Hey, Straight Guys!

YOU ARE NOT THAT ATTRACTIVE!!!

Ah, but anyway, men seem to believe that, should they even begin to accept the fact that some people choose a different lifestyle, they would be branded gay themselves, let alone a straight guy supporting gays. It is nearly to the point that if a man even says the words "gay" or "homosexual" he must spend his nights in a "gay bar" pinching other guy's butts or giving head randomly. But I would like to say only - NOT SO, BOYS! Not so! Come to logic and common sense, boys! Really. Fear springs from ignorance, boys. Let's try a very small amount of though or tolerance, even - God forbid - intelligence.

And in this already repressed world where personal habits and fetishes are kept locked in a closet and buried beneath our houses, shouldn't we, the anal-retentive majority, have some respect for the homosexual crowd for their ability to admit - not only to themselves, but indeed, to the world - their sexual preference. Sex is not a dirty thing to be pushed into the murky, dark, damp, rat-infested corner of society!! Really!

Breathe in, breathe out, move on.
