Beginning of the Plot - precisely what makes this an absolutely spectacular movie to me:

Louisiana girl's step father dies, girl leaves home to find her elder half-brother who happens to be a high school teacher and gay. Girl meets half-bro's live-in lover and is quite attracted to this decidedly gay, but inexperienced guy. Girl gets live-in to sleep with her - a lot. Plot evolves and she says she's pregnant, to which live-in decides he's bisexual and runs off with girl and half-bro's savings. Meanwhile, half-bro's former love who died of AIDS's sister teaches with half-bro. Sister takes over half-bro's life. Half-bro's live-in's former boyfriend shows up, finds out bisexual is gone, gets angry when half-bro can't tell him where bisexual went. Bfriend gets angry at half-bro and brings charges against him, saying that when bfriend went to high school and had half-bro as teacher, he was molested. Half-bro teacher gets suspended with pay. Half-bro is called by bisexual and decides to go after bisexual and girl. Half-bro calls local sherrif and determines girl and bisexual are in L.A. Amidst this, local sherrif friend to every-freaking-body gives little snippets of plot-evolving info at good points and hits on prudish, control-freakish, bitter, nasty sister of half-bro's dead love. Sister and half-bro have dinner with girl and bisexual in L.A. which is EXTREMELY comical. Sister and half-bro follow bisexual and girl home only to find the next morning that girl has an old boyfriend from Louisiana coming back around and that the baby is really his. Girl runs off with Louisiana boyfriend, who is majorly psychotic about his Christianity, etc etc etc.

Confused?

Good! It's a marvy movie with some awesome acting. And, of course, Christina Ricci is amazingly gorgeous.... (sigh, drool drool drool) 'Scuse me... Lemme wipe off my chin.

If you wanna feel like a good person, do see this movie. If you think you're evil and nasty, see this movie - chances are you haven't done anything compared to the girl Ms. Ricci plays in this movie. I'm very sorry I missed seeing this one in an actual movie theatre - I caught it on the Sundance Channel. (Satellite TV rocks)

Breathe in, breathe out, move on.
